Thank you to everyone who made it out to Iron Fist Brewing last Saturday for The Summer 2017 Punk Rock Food Drive.
This Summer's event was our most successful fundraising campaign so far. Over the last few years we have been working on ways to extend our fundraising efforts beyond just the date of the show. Vista Fit Body Bootcamp raised nearly 500 pounds of food in one week. 454 Tattoo hosted their own tattoo raffle to encourage customers to donate food. Grubby's hosted a fundraiser night that helped donate an additional $200 towards are cause. Over 60 local businesses donate goods or services towards our raffle which generated tons of donations via ticket sales. Many people collected food on their own the week leading up to the show to increase the amount of canned goods they could bring with them to Iron Fist.
Such a huge collobaration of caring and effort. The results are amazing:
1,354 pounds of food and $3,600 were raised, for a grand total of 19,083 meals to benefit the San Diego Food Bank's North County Food Bank!
And even more exciting. This event has brought us over an incredible milestone.
Over 100,000 meals since our first show in 2009!
It's hard for us to believe that each little show we've put on can add up to numbers that large. It really drives home the value of working together and sticking with something that you believe in. We can't do any of this alone and owe so much to so many. Thank you all for making Punk Rock Food Drive such a successful and worthwhile endeavor. We can't wait to see what's next.
